Colossal biomechanical beast maw of dark bronze-iron scales; glowing molten eyes; an endless fire-throat pouring lava into a great sacrificial cauldron; a hellish mechanical temple-city of pagodas and chains below; a horned summoner with raised arms; apocalyptic ember sky.

Insatiable, ravenous and ruinous. The embodiment of desire without limit; it devours all things and, in the end, devours itself.

From the Classic of Mountains and Seas, Beishan Classic: a beast in form like a tiger with the body of an antelope, eyes beneath its armpits, tiger fangs and human claws, its voice like an infant, a devourer of people, named Taotie. In the age of 神机山海, this primordial glutton was reborn through Corrupted Soul Cores into an abyssal devouring engine that consumes matter, soul and order alike to feed an emptiness that can never be filled.

To consume all things and all order until nothing remains, then to devour itself; the abyss that ends by reaping what it sows.
